The Russia-Ukraine war, Israeli aggression in Palestinian territories and hassle-free entry for Qataris to Japan dominated talks at the second Qatar-Japan Strategic Dialogue held in Tokyo on Tuesday.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani led the Qatari side while Japan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hayashi Yoshimasa headed the Japanese side.

The two sides agreed to exchange notes on exempting Qatari citizens from entry visas by introducing the pre-registration system for Qatari travellers to Japan.

They expressed their concerns over the consequences of the recent Israeli violations in the Palestinian territories, their agreement to support the resolutions of international legitimacy on the Palestinian issue, the need to end the Russian-Ukrainian crisis through dialogue and diplomatic means, and the importance of continuing humanitarian support to Afghanistan.
