Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida met with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani during his current visit to Japan, on the sidelines of the second strategic dialogue between the two countries.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations in all fields and the importance of continuing dialogue and coordination to foster mutual interests.

Hailing the solid relations between the two countries, Sheikh Mohammed said Qatar was looking forward to the Japanese prime minister’s visit to Doha.

He called for boosting economic cooperation and encouraging mutual investments, especially in the energy sector. He also highlighted the need to encourage joint investments in the renewable energy sector.

The Japanese prime minister expressed his country’s appreciation for the Qatari efforts in mediation and dispute resolution in a way that contributes to solidifying international peace and security.
