Los Angeles: “All Quiet on the Western Front” by German director Edward Berger has been nominated in the best film category for this year’s Oscars, along with nine others, Hollywood’s film academy said on Tuesday.
Others on the list include “Avatar: The Way of Water,” “Everything Everywhere All at Once” and “The Fabelmans.” German composer and pianist Volker Bertelmann is in the running for the music to “All Quiet on the Western Front.” Bertelmann, who uses the name Hauschka, was nominated in 2017 along with Dustin O’Halloran from the United States for the soundtrack to “Lion.”
Four other composers have also been nominated, including John Williams for “The Fabelmans” and Justin Hurwitz for “Babylon.” The award ceremony is to take place in Hollywood on March 12.(dpa)
