HM Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik of the Sultanate of Oman has commended the initiative of the late Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah as well as the efforts of Kuwait in promoting rapprochement of views among Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states which culminated in accord to take positive steps to find a way out of the impasse of misunderstanding and to work together to bring back the GCC household into full harmony, according to Oman News Agency.


While presiding over a meeting of the Council of Ministers on Tuesday, Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik expressed Oman's continuous keenness to support all efforts to achieve consensus among GCC states.

He reaffirmed the pursuance of permanent stands of Omani foreign policy, which is based on good neighbourliness, friendship and cooperation with all. He also reiterated the Sultanate's principle of neutrality and non-intervention in the internal affairs of others.
