STENDEN University Qatar (SUQ) held its first Industry Advisory Board meeting under the chairmanship of Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al Thani, chairman of Al Faisal Holding, at the City Centre Rotana Hotel in Doha recently.
The event was attended by Hamad al Mulla, chief executive officer of Katara Hospitality; Eng Abdulla al Mehshadi, chief executive officer of Msheireb Properties; Rashid al Mansoori, chief executive officer of Qatar Stock Exchange; Amruda Nair, chief executive officer of Aiana Hotels and Resorts; and Dr Craig Thompson, head of Stenden Hotel Management School in the Netherlands.
Sheikh Faisal officially inaugurated the new Industry Advisory Board and highlighted the role of the Board in assisting Stenden University Qatar in achieving its goals, which are aligned with Qatar's National Vision 2030.
The Board members were acquainted with the history of the university, its main academic and non-academic activities, and the plans for its future development through a presentation given by Dr Ivan Ninov, Executive Dean of Stenden University Qatar. Former university alumni and current students were also invited to the meeting to share their overall experience at Stenden University Qatar.
Stenden University Qatar Industry Advisory Board will meet twice a year and provide its members with an opportunity to share and discuss ideas about the future development of the university.
The Board will serve as one of the main pillars of the university by supporting it in its strategic planning activities and in the further development of its academic curriculum.
The Board will also assist Stenden University Qatar with internship, employment, and sponsorship opportunities for its students and alumni.
