The Observer Programme at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 gave around 180 participants the chance to go behind the scenes to see for themselves how the tournament is organised. “Over the course of three days, they visited numerous sites including the accreditation center, the volunteers’ center, tournament headquarters, stadiums, the International Broadcaster Centre, the Main Media Centre, FIFA Fan Festival and training sites, among others,” FIFA said in a statement.

FIFA’s Chief Operating Officer Colin Smith said, “The Observer Programme is a key component of every FIFA World Cup and aims to provide a deeper understanding of what it takes to successfully deliver the greatest show on earth”.

“Through the Observer Programme we received a comprehensive, big picture lens of a FIFA World Cup,” said General Manager of Acquisition, Events and Development for South Australia Jenny Mann.

“All different elements including stadiums, accommodation, transport, spectator services, and media were covered.” (QNA)
