Qatar Charity (QC) has provided urgent relief aid to more than 4,000 people affected by the earthquake that hit Indonesia’s West Java province.

The relief aid, which came with the support of benefactors from Qatar, was delivered to the affected in the villages of West Java to alleviate their suffering. The aid included food items, drinking water, hygiene kits and other items.

Khaled Al -Yafii, director of the Emergency and Relief Department at Qatar Charity, said the aid is part of Qatar Charity’s humanitarian and moral duty towards the needy and those affected by disasters and calamities, adding that such aid is provided through Qatar Charity’s field offices worldwide and in cooperation with its local partners.

He added that Qatar Charity distributed the aid to 1,000 families in four villages affected by the earthquake, which damaged the buildings and displaced the people from their homes.

Didi Farhan, head of a beneficiary village, thanked the people of Qatar and Qatar Charity for providing the relief aid and mattresses to the affected, stressing that the timely aid fulfilled the essential needs of the beneficiaries, who are unable to meet their basic needs.
