In a major boost to the healthcare services, more Smart Clinics will be opened at health centres across Qatar in the next few months, a top official of the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has said.
The first Smart Clinic was opened at the Al Wakrah Health Center, which is a model for screening, diagnosing and managing diabetes in the local community.
PHCC will also adopt the Smart Clinic model for annual check-up for several diseases, including diabetes. The pilot programme for the annual check-up will start in December.
Speaking at a WISH press conference, PHCC Managing Director Dr Mariam Ali Abdulmalik said the Al Wakrah Smart Clinic was opened on January 1. She said they have invited 9,800 people from Al Wakrah to the health centre.
