The success of the State of Qatar in embodying the dream of hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 continues to impress the world as an inspiring experience worthy of appreciation, not only at the Arab level, but also at the global level.

Qatar’s successful hosting of the World Cup is not only acclaimed by football fans who flocked to Doha in thousands to attend the tournament, but also by senior international officials who witnessed an exceptional organisation that affirms Qatar’s fulfilment of its promises and reflects its pride in its authentic Arab and Islamic principles, as well as its belief in the ability of sports, particularly football, to bring people together.

In this context, Australian Minister of Sports Anika Wells, who attended the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 at Al Bayt Stadium, praised the all round progress that Qatar has made since winning the honour of hosting the tournament, including legislation and reforms in the field of human rights.

In an interview with the CNN, the Minister noted that one of the most important lessons she had learnt during her talks with Qatari officials about their experience in organising the World Cup, especially since her country is set to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup next year, is “unifying the world with its different cultures and values in one place.”

US Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Elizabeth Allen acknowledged the great progress made by the State of Qatar in the field of workers’ rights, as well as its commitment to improving and developing it.

In an exclusive interview with the American Al-Hurra TV, Allen emphasised the importance of focusing on the values of sport and its ability to bring together people from different countries of the world; pointing to the excellent atmosphere that dominated USA’s match against Wales, which was attended by several ministers, as well as the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

On the other hand, the US Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs stressed the importance of the strategic dialogue between the United States and the State of Qatar, which was held between the two sides in conjunction with the World Cup, noting that it provides an opportunity to enhance cultural and academic cooperation and student exchange.

In turn, Anil Shilin, a researcher at the Quincy Institute in Washington, said in an interview with the American Al-Hurra TV that the convening the fifth Qatar-US Strategic Dialogue in conjunction with the World Cup is considered a support for Qatar’s efforts to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 continues to attract more admiration and respect for its impressive organisation and its lofty messages sent by the State of Qatar on this global occasion.

In this context, Morocco Coach Hicham El Idrissi praised the selection of the young Qatari Ghanem Muhammad Al Muftah, who is an inspiring personality to Arab and Gulf youth and sends a message that perseverance, hard work and faith must bear fruit.

El Idrissi told Moroccan TV MEDI 1 that choosing to recite verses from the Holy Quran at the beginning of the ceremony also sent a beautiful message that we give examples and lessons to the West, not the other way around.

In this regard, the Moroccan coach affirmed that the State of Qatar fulfilled today what it had promised and has reached what it aspired to.
