Heralding a possible improvement in Qatar's COVID-19 situation, the weekly average of positive infections out of every 100 tests in the country fell from around 31 two weeks ago to fewer than 26 last week.
According to the latest figures released by the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA), the weekly average ratio of positive cases to examined cases between June 15 and 21 stands at 25.8. The figure was 38.4 at the peak, between May 25 and 31. Since then, the average has been declining steadily declining.
As of June 22, 18,348 people are currently under treatment for COVID-19 in Qatar. Monday saw 1,034 people testing positive out of 3,778 people examined in Qatar.
The death toll from the infection stands at 99, while 69,956 have recovered.
