Family visits are to be blamed for most of the recent COVID-19 transmissions among Qatari citizens, Supreme Committee for Crisis Management Spokesperson Lolwah Rashid al Khater said on Monday.
The official called on the public in Qatar to refrain from visiting relatives for the time being.
Two patterns have been identified for the COVID-19 transmissions in Qatar — one among the citizens and the other among expatriates. While the one among expatriates has been classified as a “community spread”, that among the nationals hasn’t been.
Most of the infections were detected among citizens returning home from abroad and the people they have had contact with in Qatar.
