Tribune News NetworkDohaCoronavirus claimed one more life in Qatar on Tuesday as the death toll rose to 2, while total confirmed cases jumped by 88 to 781, according to the Ministry of Public Health. The deceased is only identified as a 58-year-old resident, who was suffering from chronic diseases.Meanwhile, 11 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours to take the total to 62.Some of the new cases are linked to people who have either recently returned to Qatar from overseas or had had contact with those infected with the virus. All new cases are in quarantine with proper medical care.The Ministry of Public Health said it conducted 2,291 tests on Tuesday, owing to the use of new advanced laboratory techniques to detect the virus which means a large number of samples can now be tested each day. This is helping to contribute to the faster discovery of infected cases which will help to reduce the spread of the virus.This increase is also contributed to by the increasing number of Qataris recently returning from overseas to the State of Qatar.The Ministry of Public Health requests all members of society to cooperate fully and adhere to all health guidelines and preventive measures in order to reduce the risk of contracting the virus.
