Shops in Souq Waqif will stay open round the clock throughout the week during the FIFA World Cup 2022, according to Al Sharq.
Shop owners the Arabic daily talked to said they had increased their stock and the number of staff to handle the increased demand and extended hours.
The restaurants and cafes at the popular tourist spot are also adding more items to their menus in a bid to capitalise on the much-anticipated rush of visitors. The shop managements are also considering uniforms for their staff.
The daily noted that all preparations have been made at the souq for the World Cup, which will be held between November 20 and December 18.
