The Ambassador of Indonesia to Qatar, HE Muhammad Basri Sidehabi graced at the grand opening of Source of Fortune (SoF) Supermarket in Al Khor. The ceremony was witnessed by the former Ambassador of Indonesia to the Czech Republic Dr Salim Said, Indonesia Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) Director Gusmalinda Sari, Indonesia Investment Promotion Centre (IIPC) Director Agus Prayitno and Indonesian Diaspora Network President Ebed Litaay.
The SoF Supermarket is a subsidiary of the Qatindo Group, which has been operating in the retail sector in Qatar since 2002. The group is headed by Mahdi Musa. The Qatindo Group has grown since its inception from just a retail outlet of Indonesian products to a trader and distributor of Indonesian goods as well as handling distribution to an internationally-known hypermarket chain in Qatar. The group expanded its reach through SoF Supermarket in Al Khor with the contribution of Indonesian businessman Heri Kartono, and a Qatari national Jumah Ismail al Boenain.
Supermarket aims to fulfil the need of Al Khor residents of Indonesian high quality goods. The SoF stocks fresh produce and spices from Indonesia, as well as handicrafts, garments, cosmetics and spa products from Indonesia.
