The Ministry of Interior, in coordination with the General Civil Aviation Authority and other relevant authorities, has announced that unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) can be operated in designated areas across Qatar effective Tuesday.
The authorised areas can be identified through the Metrash app, the ministry said. Drone operations will be permitted during two daily periods — from sunrise until 9am and from 2pm until sunset.
The Ministry of Interior urged drone users to strictly adhere to the designated operating areas and permitted timings and refrain from flying drones outside authorised zones. Users must also operate drones only for the purposes for which they are licensed and comply with all approved requirements and designated operating zones.
The ministry warned that legal action will be taken against violators in accordance with applicable laws. (TNN)
