Doha

Hayya Card holders will be able to use Doha Metro for free from November 10 until December 23, it was announced in a press conference held in Doha on Wednesday.

The event that brought together transport, security and other officials also saw Qatar Rail announcing the extension of Doha Metro working hours during the World Cup. It will run from 6 am to 3 am on weekdays and from 9 am to 3 am on Fridays. Qatar will host the FIFA World Cup 2022 from November 20 to December 18.

The capacity of the metro will rise to 110 trains per day, and the time between each train and the other will be 165 seconds. Access to stadiums will be across five means: Private cars, taxis, metros, buses and other transportation. 25% of the cars that will be used in the World Cup are environmentally-friendly cars.

Engineer Ahmed Al Obaidli: Qatar will be the first host country for the World Cup to use a large fleet of environmentally friendly electric buses

Eng. Abdullah Al-Sulaiti: More than 5,000 additional human elements were employed to secure the mass crowds inside and outside metro stations.. In addition to the presence of employees who will be responsible for organizing the movement of these crowds.

Abdullah Al-Sulaiti, Director of Operations Affairs at Qatar Railways and Qatar Rail: Private parking will be provided next to metro stations and free transportation is allowed with a Hayya Card from November 10 until December 23

Lieutenant Khaled Al Mulla: In continuation to the plan to manage the movement of vehicles with public and private transport plates that was announced on September 28, it will be fully activated from November 1

Lieutenant Engineer Khaled Al Mulla: Corniche Street will be designated for pedestrians from November 1 to December 19, and an integrated plan has been prepared to facilitate movement

Najla Al-Jaber: The transport network has been developed and expanded, taking into account the movement of transport, in addition to linking the logistical and vital cities in integration with the public transport system.
