Being held under the patronage of Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Abdullah Al Thani, Project Qatar 2022 and Hospitality Qatar 2022 — a combination of two major events by IFP Qatar — continued for the second successive day with a positive response from the stakeholders from construction and hospitality sectors.
Themed ‘One Show, Multiple Opportunities’, the mega event, an amalgam of the 18th International Construction Technology and Building Materials Exhibition - Project Qatar 2022 and the 7th international hospitality and HORECA Exhibition - Hospitality Qatar 2022, commenced on June 6 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.
The opening day of the mega exhibition saw Yousef Abdulrahman Al Emadi, Projects Affairs Director at Ashghal, giving keynote speech, highlighting the 2022-2023 project opportunities from ‘Ashghal’. The day-one of the conference themed ‘Past, Present, Future’, gave an overview of the recent developments in the infrastructure and hospitality sectors in Qatar.
Haidar Mshaimesh, General Manager of IFP Qatar, said: “We are pleased with our decision to combine two most prominent exhibitions in the local market ahead of the FIFA World Cup. This has created opportunities for entities and exhibitors to act upon and build alliances, strengthening the construction and hospitality sectors in Qatar.”
Most notably, a large delegation of more than 25 members of the National Real Estate Committee in the Federation of Saudi Chambers participated in the event. This is the largest business delegation from Saudi Arabia’s private sector to visit Qatar since relations between the two countries returned to normalcy.
Day two, which featured the training session ‘Designing Workplace 2.0 - Post-Pandemic Times & Beyond’ boasted an insightful and inspiring for construction, hospitality, and tourism industry stakeholders. The session was designed to create awareness on the impact of changed workplaces in the post-pandemic world and opportunities they present.
As the activities rolled out, Hospitality Qatar hosted a Salon Culinaire competition to test the skills of chefs from across Qatar in a live and buzzing show environment. Chefs ranging from young and talented students to established culinary experts participated in the competition, highlighting unique gastronomic skills that the industry has to offer.
The implementations of major projects by IFP Group across various sectors are in line with Qatar’s vision and National Development Strategy (NDS) 2017- 2022 aimed at creating conducive atmosphere to foster private-public participation. The Group is taking under consideration all the development that Qatar is achieving and creating a platform that showcases and supports the opportunities for both local and international market players.
The mega event features more than 300 exhibiting companies, from over 180 global firms, seven of which participated in official national pavilions, along with 120 Qatari companies from major government and semi-governmental agencies and prominent private sector entities.
