The AMU Alumni Qatar (AMUAQ) organised an event, titled ‘Eid Milan’, to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr at the Golden Ocean Hotel Doha on May 12. The event was attended by more than 150 people, including international guests and poets.
AMUAQ President Dr Syed Jaffery said, “A lot of hard work, dedication and great teamwork go behind successful events such as this. It gives me great satisfaction that the AMU alumni have delivered another memorable event.”
The location of the event, Desi Fusion restaurant at Golden Ocean Hotel Doha, gave it a cozy feel and a family-like ambience.
A highlight of the event was a ‘mini Mushaira’ hosted by the RJ of FM 107 Obaid Tahir, who invited renowned poetess Dr Ambreen Haseeb Amber from the US to share her latest work, ‘Tum bhi na’. She recited some of her latest poems.
Women members of the group were at the forefront of the event, which was brilliantly compered by FM 107’s Nazia Ahmad.
At the end, Dr Jaffery thanked the entire team for the lovely evening, and special thanks were conveyed to Mohammad Sultan for his superb coordination with the sponsors -- Bhutani Infra.
The key alumni who supported the event include Ziauddin Ahmad, Zeyaul Haque, Imtiaz Javed and Javed Sultan.
Dr Jaffery also thanked the guests, including Salim Pathan, Sophia Bukhari, Er Asif Rahmany, Abdur Rahman EP, Shadab Khan, Obaid Tahir, Er Naim Jainul, Subramanya, Dr Intekhab, Dr Mosharraf, Dr Shabbir Haider, Dr Syed Meraj, Dr Imtiaz Salim, Dr Rehan Ahmad and Dr Aamir Ahmad.
