The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MoCIT) and Microsoft will inaugurate the first Digital Center of Excellence of its kind in Qatar on Tuesday.
The centre will be opened under the patronage and presence of Minister of Communications and Information Technology HE Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai and with the participation of elite representatives of the public and private sectors in Qatar.
The centre comes within the digital capacity building programme launched by the MoCIT and Microsoft with the aim of training various segments of society by 2025 and providing them with advanced cloud computing skills, in order to enable them to succeed in innovation, contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of the country at the regional and global levels and building a digital advanced and sustainable future in Qatar.
The centre aims to enhance the digital skills of various groups of Qatari society, including students, professionals, programme developers, entrepreneurs, decision-makers and others, by providing a wide range of key digital skills that they need to innovate and succeed in their jobs, including cloud computing skills, artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity and the Internet of Things.
The official launch of the digital capacity building programme and the opening of the Digital Center of Excellence comes before the launch of the new cloud data centre area in Qatar, which will provide advanced cloud services for enterprises, in addition to data storage services locally, providing high levels of security protection, in compliance with global regulatory standards for enterprises and companies in Qatar.
