Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani attended a ceremony honouring the cities of Qatar as “Healthy Cities” on the occasion of receiving all the municipalities of the State of Qatar the title of ‘Healthy Cities’ at Sheraton Doha Hotel on Monday.
Both Qatar University and Qatar Education City received the title of “Health Education City” from the World Health Organization, which is one of the results of the National Health Strategy projects 2018-2022.
The ceremony included the screening of a documentary film on health cities for the representatives of the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Municipality, the World Health Organization, Qatar University, and Generation Amazing, and concluded with the delivery of accreditation certificates to the recently approved municipalities and Qatar University. After the ceremony, the PM planted the tree of Qatar’s first healthy cities, as part of the initiative to plant a million trees.
