Coffee lovers celebrated International Coffee Day while Uno Café, Qatar’s latest artisan coffee shop, made the occasion special with its grand opening at the Doha Souq Mall on Al Nasar Street.

Gracing the occasion were Cuba’s Ambassador to Qatar HE Oscar Leon Gonzalez, Philippine Cultural Attache Jill Garduce, renowned Cuban mural artist Maisel Lopez Valdez, XPO Properties CEO Abdelmageid Hamouda and Uno Café executives Dr. Abdulla Al Shaiba and Jeanette Gotangogan.

Welcoming the guests, Gotangogan underscored the importance of coffee in the daily lives of people from all walks of life while Dr. Al Shaiba expressed his gratitude to all the guests and said that the management plans to open more Uno Café outlets.

Popular coffee blends from the Philippines the Barako variant as well Columbian, Ethiopian & Cuban varieties were served alongside authentic Filipino & Spanish delicacies to the guests.

Doha based Filipino Music House Live band, celebrating its 12th anniversary, played a number of numbers from new and old Filipino and English songs and let the guests stay for late at the event. Musical performances were led by renowned Filipino RJ Andi of Qabayan Radio 94.3FM.

Doha based Filipino actress Vanessa Casador sang the theme song from the movie “The Eventologist”, the first full-length Filipino motion picture entirely filmed in Qatar.

The event was co-organised by the Association of Filipino Realtors & Entrepreneur Executives in Qatar (AFREEQ) with its chairman Joseph Timothy Rivera hosting the event and Kulinarya Qatar, the Filipino cuisine culture drive in Doha.

Among other guests present on the occasion were members of the Filipino business community, community leaders, members of the Qabayan Radio 94.3FM Broadcast Academy headed by Engr. Ressie Fos, Qatar-based Filipino social media outfits Balitng Q, Pinoy Heart Radio & Pinoy Qatar Bloggers, TOPI, and representatives from leading media networks from the Philippines.
