The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has launched the second edition of its comprehensive guide for regulating the admission and registration of students in private schools and kindergartens for 2026.

The announcement was made during a press conference attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education HE Dr Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs Omar Abdulaziz Al Naama, along with senior ministry officials, school license holders, and directors of private and embassy-affiliated schools.

In his remarks, Dr Al Nuaimi highlighted the development of Qatar’s education sector, noting improvements in the quality of educational services and the efficiency of administrative systems in line with international best practices. He also pointed to the steady increase in student enrollment across schools and universities nationwide.

Dr Al Nuaimi emphasized that accurate and reliable data remains a cornerstone of the education system, enabling effective planning, managing school capacities, streamlining admissions and transfers, and ensuring appropriate support for students based on their educational needs.

Director of the Private Schools and Kindergartens Department, Dr Rania Yousry Mohamed, presented the new guide, describing it as a comprehensive regulatory framework and an official reference for all private schools in Qatar.

She said the guide aims to unify procedures, ensure equal opportunities for students, and simplify registration and transfer processes in accordance with established laws and regulations.

The guide clearly outlines admission age requirements for each educational stage, specifies necessary documentation, and details procedures for registration, transfer, and withdrawal. It also addresses exceptional cases through defined controls and includes standardized tables for equivalency across different curricula.

Dr Rania noted that the guide also considers the unique nature of embassy-affiliated schools, balancing their educational identity with adherence to Qatar’s regulatory framework. This ensures quality standards, institutional discipline, and the protection of students’ rights.

Meanwhile, Academic Advisor at the Office of the Undersecretary, Jassim Al Kuwari, introduced a mandatory education enrollment platform aimed at simplifying registration processes through an integrated digital system.

He explained that the platform supports the implementation of Law No. 25 of 2001 on Mandatory Education, which guarantees the right to education for all children in Qatar, including citizens and residents. The initiative is part of MoEHE’s broader digital transformation strategy, designed to enhance service efficiency, save time for parents, and ensure access to high-quality education for all students.
