The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani held seperate meetings with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress (NPC) Li Zhanshu and Premier of the State Council of China Li Keqiang, in Beijing on Thusrday.
Li congratulated the Amir on the Qatari football team's victory in the Asian Cup, praising Qatar's rapid development in sports in recent years.
The Amir noted the relations between the two countries have developed significantly and this visit was an appropriate opportunity to promote them.
HH also underlined that Qatar has investments in China.
During the meeting, they reviewed the prospects of enhancing the strategic partnership between the two friendly countries in the fields of economy and trade through the Silk Road which links China to the region, as well as the parliamentary field.
The meeting was attended by their excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying the Amir.
In another meeting, the Amir met with the Premier of the State Council of China Li Keqiang at the Council's headquarters in Beijing.
The Premier of the State Council of China said that maintaining the sound development in the bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and China has economic, commercial and political benefits for the two countries' peoples.
The meeting dealt with aspects of supporting and enhancing strategic cooperation between the two friendly countries in various fields such as economy, investment, energy, agriculture, tourism, culture, youth and sports as well as the current issues at the regional and international levels.
