• Not a single case of people missing the vaccine second dose: Dr Soha Al Bayat • Whoever has taken the two doses of the vaccine will be given a "COVID-19 vaccination card officially stamped in both Arabic and English Tribune News Network Doha There is a very high response from the community to take the COVID-19 vaccine and there is not a single case of people failing to receive the second dose, a senior health official has said. “At least 75 percent of the target groups must be vaccinated to attain herd immunity. And this does not mean that the infection will stop, but the ability of the virus to infect and transmit between people will be very weak because most people have the antibodies in their immune system that will provide them the protection,” Dr Soha Al Bayat, Head of Vaccination at the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said. She said even after the vaccination, some people may not have sufficient immunity that provides them with 100 percent protection. “Therefore, everyone even after taking the vaccine, must adhere to social distancing and other preventive measures until most of the world''s population is vaccinated and until health services have more information and data,” she said, adding that the precautionary measures can be reduced when the picture is clear about the virus. She said whoever has taken the two doses of the vaccine will be given a "COVID-19 vaccination card officially stamped in both Arabic and English. Dr Al Bayt said according to the manufacturers, the vaccine gives immunity for at least 6 months. “With clinical trials continuing, it is found that most of those who have received the vaccine still have a high level of antibodies,” she said, adding that it will become clear later whether the vaccine will be given annually or once every two years.
