Continuing its annual tradition, Karnataka Sangha Qatar celebrated Engineer’s Day for the year 2022 to commemorate the 162nd birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Vishveshvarayya.
The event held at the Indian Cultural Center (ICC) was attended by ICC president P.N. Baburajan as the as chief guest, projects manager at Qatar Chemical Limited as the guest of honour, Engineer Mohammed Al Zoubi, project engineer at Qatar Chemical Limited, keynote speaker Hemachandran, senior general manager, Infrastructure and Facility Management Galfar Al Mishad and vice-president of ICC Subramanya Hebbagelu.
Also present were advisory board members of Karnataka Sangha Qatar and president and committee members of associated organisations of Karnataka Sangha Qatar.
The audience at event appreciated the presentations from technical speakers Hemachandran on ‘Technology impacting life styles’, Kishore Shrivenkatesh on ‘Electricity generation’ and Pradeep Kumar Dileep on ‘Use of drone in aviation’.
In his welcome speech, Mahesh Gowda recalled how visiting the birth place of Sir Mokshagundam Vishveshvarayya in childhood days served as an inspiration for millions of youth in India to become engineers.
In his address, P.N. Baburajan hailed Karnataka Sangha Qatar for celebrating Engineers Day and suggested that the next edition of the event should be conducted on a bigger scale in collaboration with ICC by inviting all Indian engineers and affiliated organisations.
On his part, Amir, an engineer, gave an overview of the evolution of engineering and how he was motivated to become an engineer.
Mementos were distributed to the guest of honour and technical speakers as a token of appreciation for participation in the event.
The event was hosted by general secretary of Karnataka Sangha Qatar Pradeep Kumar Dileep and the vote of thanks was delivered by treasurer of Karnataka Sangha Qatar Ramesha.
