Awfaz Global Schools (AGS) has signed a collaboration agreement with the Education Above All Foundation (EAA), to support the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to continue providing quality education opportunities to out-of-school children in Qatar.
Under the agreement, Awfaz Global Schools will support Education Above All in its fundraising activities and awareness raising from August 15 to October 30. This will be through organising a campaign to collect donations and raise awareness of the problem of children who have dropped out of the educational system and support the Foundation’s efforts in this regard.
Awfaz Global Schools will also enrol a number of students of Assalam Schools under the condition they pass the enrolment assessment, in addition to a financial contribution for Assalam Schools students to assist in enabling continuation of their studies and advancement of their education.
Commenting on the agreement, Fatema bint Ghanem Al Kubaisi, CEO of Awfaz Global Schools, said: “As part of our expanding corporate social responsibility, the signing of the collaboration agreement aims to support the Foundation’s efforts to contribute to changing the lives of individuals, families and communities. We believe that educational opportunities should be accessible to all and we hope this agreement will contribute to ensuring that no one is left behind during the journey to a prosperous future.”
She added, “We intend to organise a fundraising campaign through which we will invite parents and students, members of our community and our partners to donate and contribute to supporting the Education Above All’s campaign entitled ‘Protecting Education’ to contribute to solving the problem of children who drop out from the educational system. We will also contribute to raising awareness of this campaign through the Awfaz’s social media accounts.
“We believe that the private sector is a fundamental partner in the development system and has a role in supporting and providing solutions to the problems of community members. The intensification of support from the private sector will contribute to improving the quality of education in Qatar and will establish an opportunity to participate in building the nation.”
Mryam Al Mannai, Together Project Officer at Education Above All, said: “Assalam Schools established in 2019 in partnership between EAA, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education under the Together ‘Sawiyan’ programme are aimed to ensure all out-of-school and at-risk children in Qatar have equitable access to quality education by providing both financial support and capacity building as well as facilitating the establishment of alternative education institutions.
People are invited to support this campaign and donate through EAA website: https://donate.educationaboveall.org
