Stocks in Qatar and across the Middle East advanced, taking their cue from Friday’s rally in oil prices and amid further signs that governments are ready to do more to stimulate their virus-battered economies.
The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) opened the week on Sunday on a stronger note and its main index gained 20.68 points at the end of Sunday’s trading to close at 9,337.12 points.
The volume of shares traded decreased to 250.412 million on Sunday from 299.526 million in the previous trading session on Thursday and the value of shares decreased to QR395.957 million from QR598.984 million on Thursday.
Six out of seven sector indices closed in the positive territory. QSE’s market capitalisation increased to QR545.36bn on the day that saw 23 stocks out of the 46 traded make gains. While 19 stocks declined, there was no change in share prices of the remaining four stocks.
