Vodafone Qatar has concluded its Ramadan charitable giving campaign by donating QR 130,000 to Education Above All (EAA) to EAA’s “Together” project, a Qatar-based initiative aimed at enrolling children from low-income families in Assalam Schools.
This brings Vodafone Qatar ‘s total donations of this Ramadan to QAR 370,000, which also benefited Qatar Charity and the Qatar Red Crescent Society. The public has shown support for Vodafone’s donation goals throughout the campaign by playing and competing for prizes on the Vodafone “Sawa” online entertainment platform.
Khames Mohammed al Naimi, Chief Human Resources Officer, Vodafone Qatar, said: “We are very pleased to show appreciation for the tremendous programs of Education Above All that open up a world of education for young people. As our campaign to give Ramadan comes to a close, we sincerely thank all those who responded to our call and helped us meet our goal of supporting the three charity initiatives. The Sawa platform helped remind us that we are in this together and it’s been incredible to see people making this effort during Ramadan.”
Mohammed Saad al Kubaisi, Director of Procurement and Operations, Education Above All, said: “We welcome this donation from Vodafone Qatar. The support will contribute to our mission to provide access to high quality education to the most marginalised of children, who would otherwise not be able to receive an education.”
From the start of their campaign, Vodafone Qatar used the platform to encourage participation and held weekly cash prize competitions to encourage people to participate. The initiative was organised as part of the broad corporate social responsibility program of Vodafone Qatar.
