Khartoum: Hundreds of Sudanese celebrating the country’s first anniversary of the ouster of long-term ruler Omar al-Bashir in the streets of the capital Khartoum were Monday teargassed by security forces as part of Covid-19 protection measures. The celebrators had assembled on a main street near Khartoum’s palace despite government banning mass gatherings to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, several witnesses told dpa. (DPA)
