Twenty eight up and coming entrepreneurs have started their training at leading international and local financial institutions as part of the “applied learning phase” of Qatar Finance and Business Academy’s (QFBA) leading professional development and Qatarisation programme, Kawader.
The 2018-2019 Kawader batch will be trained at institutions and firms including Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA), Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA), Qatar National Bank (QNB), Qatar Exchange, PwC and KPMG.
The Kawader applied-learning module runs from October 27 to November 22, providing a hands-on experience tailored to develop the participants’ skills to tackle a real market environment, refine their talent and capabilities and strengthen their acquired knowledge to ensure its practicality in fields such as auditing, finance, business management, procurement, compliance, risk management and credit analysis.
Kawader is an innovative training and professional development programme that differentiates itself by offering intensive and holistic training combining academic learning with practical, on-the-job training.
The programme is designed to train fresh Qatari graduates and young Qatari professionals in the early stage of their career towards accredited certifications to fast track their career progression and fuel their leadership development.
The programme also provides direct access and an in-depth look into leading national and international institutions in the financial services sector, enabling participants to take full advantage of industry relevant courses towards professional certifications offered by The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), Institute of Learning and Management, (ILM) and CFA Institute (CFA).
QFBA CEO Dr Khalid al Horr said, “Kawader training programme lets young Qatari professionals to gain practical on-ground experience through our local and international partners. We are actively paving the way for our Kawader cohorts to become key actors in Qatar’s financial services sector.
“Our work with young local professionals allows them to become better equipped to further advance their careersand contribute to diversifying Qatar’s economy, in line with our mission to work towards transforming the human development pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030 into a reality. ”
The seventh cohort of the Kawader programme kicked off on September 5, 2019 where 28 young Qataris were selected based on their skills and capabilities to take part in becoming future leaders of the financial services sector in Qatar. The graduation ceremony is expected to take place in February 2020 once students complete all course requirements.
