Berlin: Germany’s lower house of parliament on Thursday approved a law that will make measles vaccinations obligatory in kindergartens and schools from March 1, 2020.
In the Bundestag, 459 lawmakers voted in favour of the measure, 89 voted against it and 105 abstained.
The law will oblige parents to prove their children have been vaccinated before they can enter a new school,or they could be subject to fines of up to €2,500 ($2,750). (DPA)
