Buenos Aires: Hundreds of people have been injured and more than 1,000 arrested during heavy rioting in Chile, the Interior Ministry said on Wednesday.
A cabinet reshuffle and measures to reduce inequality have been unable to calm a nationwide protest wave which has continued in the South American country for nearly a month.
More than 100 premises were looted on Tuesday and overnight, the news website Emol quoted the Interior Ministry as saying.
About 30 buildings were set on fire and 20 police barracks attacked. (DPA)
