ISTANBUL: Speakers of Parliaments Supporting Palestine have called on the international community to take a unified and firm stance to stop the genocide committed by the Israeli occupation against civilians in the Gaza Strip for over a year and a half.

Participants in the group's first meeting, held in Istanbul, Turkiye, stressed that the continued international silence in the face of these atrocities represents an unjustifiable failure that contradicts humanitarian principles and international law. They underscored the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and opening of humanitarian corridors without delay to ensure the delivery of critical aid to civilians and to prevent the worsening of the humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip.

The group affirmed its commitment to supporting efforts to rebuild Gaza and to strengthening parliamentary presence in international forums to highlight ongoing Israeli violations in the territory.

Delegations agreed that this parliamentary initiative must go beyond being a symbolic event. It should serve as the foundation for a sustained international parliamentary movement with clear follow-up and coordination mechanisms aimed at placing the Palestinian cause firmly on regional and international agendas until the occupation ends and a just, comprehensive settlement is achieved in accordance with international law and UN resolutions.
