Tribune News NetworkDohaUrbaCon Trading & Contracting (UCC), part of Qatar-based international construction services company UCC Holding, has announced that it has been ranked as the 105th top international contractor in 2022.UCC’s leading position in the construction industry was recognised by Engineering News-Record (ENR) in its annual rankings for 2022, achieving the 105th position across the globe and the number 1 spot in the Arab World & Africa. The new rankings published by ENR, a leading global platform of news, data, and analysis for the construction industry, reported that UCC has risen 27 places this year, up from 132 in the previous year.While the UCC ranked first in the Arab world and Africa and 105 globally in the ENR list of the best contracting companies in the world for 2022, Orascom ranked second at the Arab and African levels and 111th globally, followed by the Arab Contractors at the third position in Arab and African, and 142 globally.The expansion of UCC’s footprint and depth of capabilities contributed to this global recognition. The Group’s current construction portfolio includes various landmark projects across infrastructure and heavy construction, buildings, and marine projects. These projects are contributing to Qatar’s rapidly growing industries. Alongside its traditional domestic projects, UCC diversified its portfolio in the energy sector, Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects both in Qatar and globally.There is also news about UCC preparing for public listing in the stock market in Q1 of 2024. UCC has already engaged with two prominent consulting and audit firms in this regard.
