Bilateral trade between Russia and India has surged to unprecedented levels, exceeding $70 billion in 2024, reflecting a 9 percent year-on-year increase.
Data from the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry showed that Russia exported goods and products to India worth $65.7 billion last year, marking an 8.4 percent increase compared to 2023. Meanwhile, India’s exports to Russia rose by 21 percent, reaching $4.9 billion.
As a result, the total trade between the two countries increased by 9.2 percent, reaching $70.6 billion, its highest level in the history of their relations. This solidified Russia’s position as India’s fourth-largest trading partner.
Among India’s key trading partners, the United States ranked first as the country’s largest trading partner for the second consecutive year in 2024, with trade volume between the two countries reaching $125.2 billion, a 4.3 percent increase over 2023.
China followed in second place, closing in on the United States as trade between India and China grew by 7.5 percent, reaching $124.5 billion in 2024.
