Qatar Charity (QC), with the support of the generous people of Qatar, provided a wide range of humanitarian aid to Rohingya refugees in the camps of Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char Island in Bangladesh in 2024, benefiting more than 234,313 people in the fields of health, education, shelter and food.

In the field of health, the aid included free emergency medical tests and essential medicines, benefiting 11,887 refugees. This helped alleviate the burden on the refugee community in an area with scarce health resources.

In the education sector, refugee children received essential school supplies, including bags, uniforms, toys and benches, benefiting 13,515 children. This helped create a more stable educational environment. As the number of refugees in the camps increased, shelter remained one of the most urgent needs. QC built 326 shelters in Cox’s Bazar, providing housing for 1,388 refugees. This contributed to offering protection to displaced families in a challenging environment.

QC also distributed refilled cooking gas cylinders to 82,818 refugees, helping to reduce the environmental damage caused by traditional cooking methods, such as firewood.

As part of its efforts to combat hunger, QC provided food aid benefiting 30,000 refugees, ensuring that the most vulnerable individuals did not go hungry during difficult times.

As the needs of refugees continue to grow, QC remains committed to providing humanitarian aid. In 2025, it aims to reach new areas to ensure a safer and more stable life for these persecuted communities.

Bangladesh hosts close to one million Rohingya refugees from Myanmar, making it one of the largest protracted refugee situations in the world.
