The ongoing Qatar Premier League (QPL) Men’s 2025 of the Qatar Cricket Association is witnessing some thrilling games every weekend. Last Friday GWC Cricket Club clinched an exciting 3-run win over Wombats Club at the Lusail Grounds.

GWC posted 141 before being bowled out in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, Wombats Club were kept in check by the GWC bowlers and fell short by 3 runs ending at 138 for 8 in a tense finish.

GWC’s all-round Arsalan Khan Raqib Ullah emerged as the Player of the Match scoring a quickfire 31 runs (21 balls; 4x4s) and later claimed two wickets for 18 runs in two overs.

The win saw GWC Cricket Club notch their first 2 points of the league in Pool 3 where Chargers CC are at the top with 4 points while Stallions Sports are second, also on 4 points.

A total of 36 teams split into six pools are competing in the league which began on January 17, 2025 and continues till May 9, 2025. As many as 16 games were played over the last weekend.

Current pool leaders with two wins each are Quantum United CC (4pts) Pool 1; Taprobane CC (4pts) Pool 2; Chargers CC (4pts) Pool 3; Midas XI (4pts) Pool 4; Black Hawks (4pts) Pool 5; and Spartan (4pts) Pool 6.
