IDAM by Alain Ducasse, located on the 5th floor of the Museum of Islamic Art, won the award for the Best French Restaurant in Doha for 2019.
The announcement was made during the 5th Annual FACT Dining Awards ceremony recently. In the French cuisine category, IDAM competed against five other restaurants in Doha and walked away as the winner.
IDAM serves contemporary French Mediterranean cuisine designed with an Arabic twist.
Innovative and flavoursome, IDAM recreates the timeless classics of local and regional cuisine, with most ingredients sourced in Qatar. IDAM is the Middle-East flagship restaurant of Alain Ducasse who is the driving inspiration providing the recipes, the atmosphere, the interior design, the tableware, the kitchen organisation and managing the talent of IDAM.
Alain Ducasse entrusted Executive Chef Damien Leroux with the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
Receiving the award, Chef Damien said, “We are happy to receive this award and to be recognised in the Qatar food scene as one of the best. Our cuisine is French Mediterranean with a Middle Eastern twist. We often combine French and Qatari delicacies, such as camel served with foie gras, to celebrate both countries. There is no greater satisfaction than when Qatari diners come up to me and say that the dish they’ve eaten takes them back to the food they enjoyed in their childhood.”
IDAM by Alain Ducasse is open for lunch and dinner, Saturday to Thursday and will be open for Iftar during 2019 Ramadan seven days a week.
