The highlight of the event was a memorable musical show by a Rajasthani troupe led by the renowned Rajasthani folk singer Jasu Khan.
The event kicked off with a ‘Team Launch and DCICAI Cup Unveiling’ ceremony as part of the chapter’s 23rd Annual Cricket Fiesta, which is one of the biggest sporting events of the organisation.
President of Indian Sports Centre Nilangshu Dey was the chief guest at the event. He along with Chapter Chairperson CA Rukkaiya Pachisa presented jerseys to the nine team captains including two members of the women’s teams.
They also unveiled the glittering trophies for the men’s and women’s cricket event.
Speaking on the occasion, Dey said the Doha Chapter of ICAI is among the very few organisations that have women’s cricket teams. The event was followed by the musical extravaganza featuring Rajasthani folk dances and traditional songs celebrating India-Qatar Year of Culture 2019, which enthralled the audience. More than 300 people attended the event.
Chairperson CA Rukkaiya Pachisa said Rajasthan is one of the most vibrant states of India with a very rich cultural heritage. Apart from its magnificent palaces, forts and lakes that speak volumes about its rich heritage, the state is famous for the tales of valour and hospitality of its people.
The vote of thanks on the day was offered by Chapter Vice Chairman CA Sandeep Chowdhary who expressed his gratitude to the sponsors, members, executive committee team, volunteers and all those who contributed to the success of the event.
The attendees, including family members, praised the chapter for organising a cultural event of such scale and class. The enthusiasm of the participants and quality of the performers were the hallmarks of the event.
