DOHA: The Police Academy, through its Center for Security Research and Studies, in collaboration with the Establishments and Authorities Security Department at the Ministry of Interior (MoI), organized a seminar to discuss the role of private security companies in bolstering and supporting the national security framework. The event brought together a distinguished group of officials, MOI officers, and representatives from relevant ministries and companies.

The seminar aimed to shed light on modern approaches to securing public facilities and institutions, emphasizing the operational and security contributions of private security companies in creating a comprehensive security ecosystem. It also explored the legal frameworks that define the obligations and operational mechanisms of these companies.

Key topics included the role of private security companies in securing major events in coordination with security agencies, mechanisms for collaboration between the Private Security Services Companies section at the Establishments and Authorities Security Department, and the use of advanced technologies in safeguarding public facilities.

Director of the Establishments and Authorities Security Department, Maj. Gen. Dr. Ali Khajim Al Adhbi, underscored the Ministry's commitment to enhancing private security services as part of its strategy (20242030), aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030. He further noted that the Ministry's relationship with private security companies operates within the boundaries of legal frameworks, specifically Law No. 19 of 2009 and its implementing decisions, which regulate private security practices. These companies, he stated, are an essential component of Qatar's broader security strategy.
