BUDAPEST: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has held talks in Budapest with Prime Minister of Hungary HE Viktor Orban.

At the beginning of the session, the Prime Minister of Hungary welcomedthe Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and his accompanying delegation, expressing his hope that his visit would contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries.

He also expressed his country's appreciation for the joint mediation of the State of Qatar in Gaza, which resulted in the release of a number of prisoners and detainees.

For his part, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Prime Minister of Hungary for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, noting that the State of Qatar and Hungary have several elements to consolidate cooperation relations between them and raise them to broader horizons, stressing the importance of exchanging experiences between the two friendly countries.

He also affirmed the State of Qatar's firm commitment to partnership with Europe to promote common interests and consolidate security and peace at the international level.

During the session, the two sides reviewed relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them, especially in the fields of economy, tourism, culture, agriculture, energy, technology, and the development of Budapest Airport, in addition to cooperation in international organizations and between diplomatic institutes in the two countries.

The session also discussed the most prominent regional and international issues of common interest.

The session was attended by a number of the ministers and senior officials, members of the official delegation accompanying the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. It was also attended by a number of the ministers and senior officials from the Hungarian side.

An official reception ceremony was held for the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs earlier, upon his arrival in the capital, Budapest.
