THE Cabinet, at its weekly meeting chaired by Prime Minister HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani at Amiri Diwan on Wednesday, approved a draft law on preventive measures against animal-origin infectious and epidemiological diseases in the GCC countries.
The Cabinet also approved a draft decision by the minister of commerce and industry amending some provisions of decision No 2 of 1988 regarding the maximum prices for the sale of Australian sheep meat and the regulation of its trading.
Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Dr Issa bin Saad al Jafali al Nuaimi read out the agenda and decisions of the meeting.
Moreover, the Cabinet approved a draft memorandum of understanding on the provision of explosives control equipment to enhance the security of civil aviation at Hamad International Airport in Qatar between the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Qatar and the Department for Transport in the United Kingdom.
The Cabinet also approved a draft letter of intent between the Municipality of Doha in Qatar and the Government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires in the Argentine Republic.
The Cabinet then took the necessary measures for the ratification of: an agreement on the encouragement and protection of mutual investments between the governments of Qatar and the Republic of Rwanda; a Memorandum of Understanding for Economic, Commercial and Technical Cooperation between the governments of Qatar and the Republic of Rwanda; and a twinning agreement between the Municipality of Doha and the Municipality of Quito in the Republic of Ecuador.
The Cabinet then reviewed a number of topics and took appropriate decisions including; the letter of HE the Minister of State for Energy Affairs on the amendment of some provisions of a number of legislative instruments; the letter of HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs on the 4th and 5th annual reports of the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law; and the memorandum of HE the Minister of Public Health on the results of the 4th meeting of the Ministers of Health Committee and the 81st meeting of the Council of Ministers of Health of the GCC countries in Kuwait.
