QNA DohaThe Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has launched a back-to-school campaign under the slogan ‘Towards Promoting Students’ Overall Health’, which targets school students of all ages, their parents, and all public school employees. The campaign, which aims to reach the largest possible segment of the community, will start on Wednesday (today) in three health centres: Leabaib, Al Thumama and Al Wajbah. On Sunday, it will begin in schools through events that highlight many aspects of health to maintain the highest level of mental, behavioural and psychological health by providing educational tips and advice on the importance of maintaining health via organising visits by parents with their children to health centers. The campaign will also shed light on empowering students physically, psychologically, mentally and behaviourally, preparing them to engage in the educational process while enjoying comprehensive health, as well as raising the level of health awareness for students, their parents and school staff on many issues related to physical, psychological and behavioural health. The events and activities include awareness lectures for students through school health nurses and a group of health educators from health centres. Parents will also be involved by sending awareness messages periodically from the PHCC and the School Health Department, in addition to holding meetings between students and their parents with doctors, health educators and psychologists, and social workers in the health awareness and education corner, whether at the school or health centres designated to implement the campaign. The PHCC stressed that preparing students for the new school year is a shared responsibility between the family and the school, adding that it is necessary to provide all means to help students engage in the educational process and enjoy physical, psychological and mental health, by cultivating healthy habits to reach a safe lifestyle and promote overall health.
