Gunmen kill police officers guarding polio vaccine medics in Pakistan

Islamabad Gunmen shot and killed two police officers deployed to guard medics administering the polio vaccine in north-western Pakistan on Tuesday.The policemen were killed in the Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province during a door-to-door vaccination drive, Qudrat Ullah, a local police officer, said.He said the gunmen, who were riding a motorcycle, had fled the scene. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.On Monday, the provincial government launched the vaccination drive to jab more than a million children up to the age of 5. (DPA)
