Sydney: Australia’s Foreign Minister Marise Payne on Sunday called on Thailand to immediately release football player Hakeem Ali Mohamed Ali AlAraibi who is facing extradition to Bahrain.
Payne said she had raised the matter with her Thai counterpart Don Pramudwinai and requested AlAraibi be allowed to return to Australia. "Australia is concerned by the ongoing detention of Mr Hakeem Ali AlAraibi and calls for his immediate return to Australia,” she said. (DPA)
