KUALA LUMPUR FIVE Vietnamese fishermen on Monday were sentenced by a Malaysian court to six months in jail for possession of monitor lizards and wild boar, the government said. The convicts were arrested on May 8 at a jetty in Chendering Recreational Park, around 290 kilometrse north-east of Kuala Lumpur, after wildlife officers recovered the protected species from their boat, said the wildlife department of Terengganu state. They pleaded guilty to possessing restricted specis before they were sentenced by Judge Rodiah Mohamad. (DPA)
