Formula one power unit suppliers Honda and Alpine have been fined a combined $1 million by the ruling body FIA for procedural violations in 2023 season.
The FIA said on Tuesday that Honda have to pay $600,000 and Alpine 400,000, with both teams accepting the sanction.
Honda were sanctioned for a “failure to file accurate Reporting Documentation in respect of the 2023 Reporting Period because the Reporting Documentation submitted by it included incorrect excluded and/or adjusted costs in the calculation of its Relevant Costs.”
Alpine were found guilty of “delaying the exercise by the Cost Cap Administration of its regulatory function and in submitting Reporting Documentation in respect of the 2023 Reporting Period that was inaccurate by omitting relevant information.”
The FIA said that neither team exceeded the cost cap or “sought or obtained any undue advantage as a result of the breach.”
