Qatar's Minister of Environment and Climate Change HE Sheikh Dr Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani along with other senior officials from the ministry paid an inspection visit to the Wild Animal Breeding Centre in Al Shahaniya area.

During the visit, the minister was briefed on the proposal to breed some endangered wild animals under captivity, with the aim of developing programmes to protect and multiply rare and endangered wild species under captivity.

The minister praised the important role of the centre and the achievements it has achieved in the field of wild animal breeding development, and directed the development of work mechanisms in the centre in line with the requirements and needs of the market.

He called for harnessing the capabilities of the centre to become an educational and awareness edifice that allows its visitors to learn about rare wild animals protection efforts, and provides researchers and students.
