His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani was awarded the National Order of Merit of Chad by President of the Transitional Military Council Lt. Gen. Mahamat Idriss DebyItno, in appreciation of the Amir's role and efforts of Qatar in making the Chadian Peace Negotiations a success. The Chadian Peace Agreement, which was signed in Doha, is being viewed as an important step in achieving the sovereign inclusive national dialogue in Chad for establishing a new phase of security, peace and stability.
On behalf of the Amir, the Order of Merit was received by Charge d'Affaires at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Chad HE Abdul Sattar Saleh Al Ansari when he was received by the President of the Transitional Military Council.
