President of Singapore Halimah Yacob met with Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Singapore on Thursday.
In the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed conveyed the greetings of His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the Singaporean president, and HH the Amir's wishes of good health and happiness; and to the government and people of Singapore, continued progress and prosperity.
For her part, the president entrusted the Qatari foreign minister with her greetings to HH the Amir, wishing him good health and happiness, and Qatar continued progress, development and prosperity.
During the meeting, Yacob and Sheikh Mohammed reviewed bilateral relations and ways to support and develop them in various fields, especially in economy. They also discussed Qatar's preparations to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the latest developments in the Middle East.
The president of Singapore expressed her country's gratitude to Qatar for its efforts in facilitating the evacuation of civilians from Afghanistan.
